Mona Lisa Smile

Sitting in the gallery
Watching you watching me
There’s other pictures I could see
But they don’t do the things you do to me
And when you’re hanging on the wall
The others might as well not be there at all
And though I know you’re flawed in parts
To me, you’re a work of art.
When I look into your eyes
It’s like looking at the night sky
When I look into your face
It takes me to another place
But the greatest thing by miles
Is looking at your Mona Lisa smile
Looking at your Mona Lisa smile
I know we’ve had our ups and downs
I know at times I’m a pain to have around
But our love is strong enough
To take the smooth with the rough
I know at times it seems that I don’t care
But you’re my world and I need you there
And when you give that smile that I adore
I see the timeless beauty that Leonardo saw
When I look into your eyes
It’s like looking at the night sky
When I look into your face
It takes me to another place
But the greatest thing by miles
Is looking at your Mona Lisa
Looking at your Mona Lisa
Looking at your Mona Lisa smile
Looking at your Mona Lisa smile

Nothing I Can Do
03:13
|

Yesterday is gone
Now tomorrow's all we have
But I guess that 'aint so bad
In silence time moves on
Embracing young and old
In its unrelenting hold
But there's no reason
To feel remorse 'cos you can't change course
You've made your bed you gotta lie in it
Aint' nothing I can do, there's no way I can mend
The things I did back then
No way to know if life will treat me rough
Guess I'll find out soon enough
In this everchanging world
We slowly live our lives
With youth as our only vice
From little boys and girls
We soon grow old and wise
But we're too weak to use our prize
But you can't beat it
You fix a grin as the rot sets in
You fade away it's a vicious circle
CHORUS x2
Time's running out
Now time's all we've got
can't turn back the clock, and I know
What's done is the past
And like everyone my time will come

Play It Again
03:39
|
|||
Hello old friend, so good to hear you again
Forgot about you, so caught up chasing the blues
I know old friend you feel you were a means to an end
That I forgot you with ease for kings and vinyl memories
But now it's time to make your mark
Be a guiding light in someones dark
And now it's time to touch them with your spark
And Oh they're singing
And they're dancing
They're calling out your name
So play it again
And Oh they're singing
And they're dancing
They're calling out your name
So play it again
Don't get me wrong I always knew you were strong
I passed you by you never wanted to fly
But was I wrong and was it you all along?
I couldn't resist chasing ghosts in the mist
But now it's time to make your mark
Be a guiding light in someones dark
And now it's time to touch them with your spark
And Oh they're singing
And they're dancing
They're calling out your name
So play it again
And Oh they're singing
And they're dancing
They're calling out your name
So play it again
Be the one to move them
Take memories, improve them
Become the soundtrack of their lives
Be the one to lift their hearts when their world is torn apart
Now it's time to touch them with your spark
And Oh they're singing
And they're dancing
They're calling out your name
So play it again
And Oh they're singing
And they're dancing
They're calling out your name
So play it again

I Didn't Die
04:27
|
|||
I am the sunlight
On ripened grain
I am
The gentle autumn rain
I'm a thousand wind's that blow
I am the diamond glint on snow
I'm the river as it bends
The gold at rainbows end
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there I do not sleep
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there
I didn't die, we'll never be apart
I didn't die as long as I'm in your heart
When you awaken
In the mornings hush
I am
The swift uplifting rush
Of wild birds in startled flight
I'm the soft star's that shine at night
I'm the ocean's crashing waves
A thousand sunny days
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there I do not sleep
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there
I didn't die, we'll never be apart
I didn't die as long as I'm in your heart
I didn't die, we'll always be a team
I didn't die as long as I'm in your dreams
I'm a waterfall, I'm a candlelight
I'm a wedding ring, I'm neon bright
I'm a Harvest Moon, I'm getting wet
I'm ocean spray, I'm a red sunset
I'm a favourite song, I'm starry nights
I'm a shooting star, I'm a sudden fright
I'm a fairground ride, I'm skies of blue
I'm a spinning top, I'm a mountain view
I am....
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there I do not sleep
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there....

Complete
04:05
|
|||
Last night I watched you sleeping
Peaceful, barely breathing
Kissed your forehead, stroked your hair
You didn’t even stir
Were you dreaming of me?
Or someone I could never be
With you I am complete
You make sadness obsolete
Protect me, infect me, warm me and perfect me
So don’t disrespect neglect or reject me
I love to watch you thinking
To see your face frowned in concentration
Are you wondering if we
have a future or just history?
With you I am complete
You make sadness obsolete
Define me, refine me, soften and fur-line me
So don’t disrespect neglect or reject me.
Just a part of the whole
I’m on the ball but I’ve no goals
Feels like watching over you is something I was born to do
You are the part that makes me whole
I love it when you’re angry
Irrational logic in your rage
I don’t mind taking the blame
It means we’ll soon be making up again
That’s the part I love the most.
Your mind and body as my host
With you I am complete
You make sadness obsolete
Protect me, infect me, warm me and perfect me
Define me, refine me, soften and fur-line me
With you I am complete
You make sadness obsolete
Protect me, infect me, warm me and perfect me
Define me, refine me, soften and fur-line me
So don’t disrespect neglect or reject me.
So don’t disrespect neglect or reject me.

Puppet On A String
03:11
|
|||
Pull my strings and see me move
Watch me sing and dance for you
Move my lips and hear me talk
Wind me up and watch me walk
I'm like a puppet on a string
A performing dog in a circus ring
A songbird forced to sing
Afraid of what tomorrow brings
Cut my strings and see me fall
Watch me struggle, watch me crawl
Close my eyes and I am blind
Cover ears, close my mind
I'm like a puppet on a string
A performing dog in a circus ring
A queen ruled by her king
A soaring bird with a broken wing
And in these days of desperate times
I have to take hold of my life
Out there is a destiny for me to meet
It's time I stood on my own two feet
Hold my strings and see me freeze
Do what you will, whatever you please
Move my arms and see me wave
Goodbye to the freedom that I crave
I'm like a puppet on a string
A performing dog in a circus ring
A dying man on a final fling
A lonely child on a garden swing
Puppet on a string....

The Creaking Of The Wood
05:09
|
|||
She stood on the shore and looked out at the sea
Through old and lifeless eyes
The night was cold and so was she
But the waves she still defied
She stood in the dark and swayed in the wind
Feeling every day
Her make-up gone, legs were weak
But her will they couldn't break
Now the people pass her by
No one ventures forth
They think the sobbing of her cries
Is the creaking of the wood
In older days she was liked she was loved
They'd come to see her every day
Sunday best, parasols and gloves
To see her splendid through the spray
And summer nights she would light up the beach
With music and laughter and heat
And under her skirts a place for homeless to sleep
While lovers met around her feet
Now the people pass her by
No one ventures forth
They think the sobbing of her cries
Is the creaking of the wood
But the gods looked down from on high
Saw the people worship her through jealous eyes
This just will not do they summised
We're slowly losing grip upon their lives
They brought the lights down early that night
Darkened clouds above an eerie sight
Stripped her bare, attacked with all their might
Water licked her wounds in morning light
Now she stands on the shore and looks out at the sea
Through old and lifeless eyes
And no one seems to hear her pleas
No one visits but the tides
She shifts in the sand and lets out a sigh
Smiles and shuts her eyes
Bids and uncaring world a last goodbye
Her death is mourned by sea-gulls cries
Now the people pass her by
No one ventures forth
They think the sobbing of her cries
Is the creaking of the wood
Now the people pass her by
No one ventures forth
They think the sobbing of her cries
Is the creaking of the wood
